Introduction

Dong-bok Shin served as a National Tax Service officer for 38 years, gaining extensive experience in corporate, VAT, income, capital gains, inheritance, gift taxation, audits, investigations, tax crime, and tax appeals across the Seoul, Jungbu, and Daejeon Regional Tax Offices and the NTS headquarters. He held key positions including Director of Wonju Tax Office, Head of Division 3 at Seoul Regional Tax Office Investigation Bureau 4, Director of Seongdong Tax Office, Director of NTS Appeals Division, and Director of Geumcheon Tax Office.

While serving in Division 1 of the NTS Investigation Bureau, he analyzed financial statements, audit reports, tax adjustments, and stock movements of Korea’s top 100 conglomerates, successfully detecting tax evasion. His tenure as corporate audit officer honed his ability to interpret corporate financial statements in conjunction with tax law at the highest level.

Mr. Shin also led the comprehensive revision of investigation administrative regulations, including the Investigation Processing Regulations, Tax Crime Processing Regulations, and Tax Evasion Information Regulations, giving him a full understanding of the entire tax audit process. Having served as Head of Corporate Investigation Teams and Special Investigation Divisions for large corporations, he is uniquely equipped to meet corporate needs in both general and special investigations, providing top-tier services across all areas of taxation.
